Reg Quest 1.2 is live on iOS. If you already have it, update from the App Store. If you don’t, it’s still free.

v1 was the core game: spot plates, log them, climb from 1 to 999. This release is for the people who actually sit in the back of the car and want to play without remembering the full registration.

What’s new

Kids mode

Turn it on in Settings, Game modes. You log just the number. Spot a 23, shout it, tap +, add it. Nobody has to remember AB12 CDE.

Your collection shows only what you’ve found, newest first. No wall of empty slots. 999 is still there if you want it later, but it isn’t the only target.

Badges instead of a percentage

Kids mode replaces “5 / 999” with a ladder that starts small:

  • Plate Spotter at 1
  • Plate Scout at 5
  • Plate Explorer at 10
  • Plate Hunter at 25
  • then Detective, Champion, Master, Legend, and Grand Champion at 999

Tap a badge on the Activity tab to see what it’s for and the day you earned it. The pill on the Plates screen jumps you straight there.

Switch Kids mode off whenever you like. Your collection stays as it is.

The rest of 1.2

  • Plates are simpler: yellow or white, your country band if you want it. Silver and gold foil is gone.
  • Location tags should feel snappier when you add a plate.
  • The collection grid has more breathing room.

Ultra and Magpie are still there for the full album. Ultra is still 1, then 2, then 3, in order. Magpie is any number, any order. Kids mode skips that choice and just lets you collect.

Same rules, same honour system

It still has to be a real plate on a real vehicle. Not a photo, not a screen, not a plate on the ground. Play from the passenger seat. Never spot while you’re driving.

Feedback

Send it through the app. Bugs, ideas, “my kid loved this”, “this badge name is daft”. All useful.

Download or update on the App Store, have a go, and tell us how you get on.
